Position Title: Caretaker/Old Elderly Center

GENERAL DESCRIPTION To provide a safe, secure and sanitary living environment for the Elderly, who are residents of the Low Rent Elderly Center
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Incumbent must comply with all Spirit Lake Housing Corporation occupancy rules and regulations.
• Incumbent will reside in the Elderly Center.
• He/she must be physically able to clean and maintain the upkeep of the Elderly Center, i.e., sweeping, mopping, waxing and buffing hallways, cleaning of the bathroom, washing windows, mowing the lawns, removal of snow(shoveling) in the winter time.
• Will also do minor repairs to all apartments.
• Schedule the use of the Washer/Dryer for each tenant.
• Will report any and all vandalism and must be willing to sign a complaint if necessary.
• Report any vacancies or any apartment being occupied by someone other than the tenant.
• When an apartment is vacated, you will be responsible to clean the apartment for the next tenant.
• Will be on duty 24 hours.
• Will be on-call for maintenance of regular units.
• Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must possess a valid North Dakota Driver’s License and have an insured vehicle.
• Must be physically able to perform duties.
• Minimal experience in the construction or maintenance of building, electrical, carpentry, plumbing and mechanical trades work. Such as roofing, sheetrocking, tape and texturing and knowledge of furnace repair.
• Must have or be willing to train for CPR/First Aide Certification.
• Applicant must be Alcohol and Drug free.
• Must take a pre-employment drug test to be scheduled by the Spirit Lake Housing Corporation.
